This episode doesn’t have a guest, it’s all me, and I’m talking about a bunch of stuff I’m thinking of with turn based tactics combat systems. A lot of this stuff is still up in the air, at some point I should write an article that lays out all of the nitty gritty details, but I’d love to hear from you about your favorite turn based tactics games and how they do combat.
I also talk more about quarterbacking in cooperative games (which I wrote about here previously) and how we think about what a “player” is in a game (in the sense of “2 player”, etc).
